How much do nails cost in New Orleans?

Typical New Orleans ranges — gentler than most cities we cover, with real seasonal swings around Carnival and festival season. We refine these against published menus as our salon reviews complete.

The 2026 price table

Typical ranges across the city and Jefferson Parish. The Garden District and Uptown boutiques trend toward the top of each range; Metairie, Kenner and the neighborhood salons toward the bottom.

New Orleans’ price logic

  • Carnival is the crunch. The weeks before Mardi Gras — plus festival season — fill books solid and push art pricing up. Book three-plus weeks ahead or go early in the season.
  • Humidity is a real variable. Summer heat and damp shorten the life of a poorly-prepped set; this is a city where proper prep and a good top coat genuinely matter more.
  • Metairie is the value pocket. Jefferson Parish salon density keeps everyday gel and pedicure prices meaningfully below the Uptown boutiques for comparable work.

Cost-per-week: the honest way to compare

A $40 gel manicure that lasts 12 days costs about $23 a week. An $85 Russian manicure worn 4 weeks costs about $21 a week — with cleaner grow-out the whole time. Long-wear services usually win the math; our Russian manicure guide explains why they last.
